His visit comes at a crucial time, as Democrats and Republicans battle over the budget. Republicans want to re-think US spending in Ukraine – while the Biden administration is pushing for an extra 24 billion dollars to help Kyiv in its fight against Russian aggression. The White House believes the Ukrainian president is the best messenger to keep that vital aid coming.
