Heroic efforts to manage wildfires in the Northwest Territories and British Columbia have made a huge difference to residents and the economy. “Firefighting efforts I guess have been successful – we’ve seen some muted numbers of the costs of these in terms of infrastructure and loss of property,” says Conference Board of Canada Chief Economist Pedro Antunes.
