Tennessee House Fails to Expel Rep. Johnson

Members of the Tennessee General Assembly debated a resolution that would expel three democratic members for their protest of legislative inaction on gun control measures following the mass shooting at the Covenant School in Nashville, TN. The debate included a variety of topics including decorum, race, gun legislation and precedence for expelling members. In addition, protestors outside of the chamber could be heard chanting in the background. The Tennessee General Assembly voted to expel Rep. Justin Jones and Rep. Justin Pearson and not to expel Rep. Gloria Johnson
