The Israeli military launched strikes on southern suburbs in Beirut overnight, in what Lebanon’s National News Agency called “the most violent” night since the start of all-out confrontation between Israel and Hezbollah. The strike on the suburb of Dahiyeh killed one person and left five injured. The United States says it has expressed concerns to Israel about the safety of Lebanese soldiers and United Nations peacekeepers in Lebanon. Israel continues to launch strikes on positions it says belongs to Hezbollah militants.
