Germany Slashes Ukraine Funding by Half: Berlin getting Ready for Trump? | Vantage with Palki Sharma
Germany has reduced its budgetary allocation for Ukraine aid. From the $8.7 Billion set aside in 2024, Germany has reduced it to about $4.35 Billion in 2025. Berlin says that Ukraine will not be short of funds because it will get loans from the proceeds of Russian assets. But is Germany reducing aid for another reason? Is Berlin worried that Trump won’t defend NATO members like Germany who don’t contribute their fair share to defence?
