The Canadian Civil Liberties Association was one of the organizations to bring forward the Federal Court case against the federal government’s use of the Emergencies Act during convoy protests in Ottawa. Its executive director Noa Mendelsohn Aviv says the decision demonstrates that these powers cannot be used unless they’re ‘critically necessary.’
